A Valentine’s Poem
You fell for him fast
When you were twenty-something years.
You knew the love would last
But didn’t know all the tears
And fears
That would rise like a flood.
But God hears
The ones he’s redeemed by Jesus’s blood.
You value every piece of pain
Whether it cut shallow or deep.
Not a single ache came in vain
Because he’s worthy for you to keep.
Every hardship, you’ve found, will heap
More love a hundredfold
—Once it’s over.
It makes you leap
For your precious bond must be told.
God has a way
To make it not only okay
But to make it great.
Even when you were buried in sorrow
He will bring a new tomorrow
If you trust him.
With everything, you must trust him.
Nobody said it would be easy
But God says that he is good.
This love will not cease thee
If you both cling to the Lord—like you should.
Cherish being one
With the one God gifted to you.
Love like his Son.
Love—choose to.
